Wheel of Life

How balanced is your life right now?

Create your own Wheel of Life using this tool.

Life is tough.

We get so caught up in the day-to-day of work, family, friends, and other responsibilities that most of us forget to take stock of how we are doing.

Michael Hyatt in his book Living Forward: A Proven Plan to Stop Drifting and Get the Life You Want calls this the drift. In essence, if your life is a boat and you don’t chart the course for your life, then you could drift for years and years and before you know it decades can pass and you will think to yourself where did all the time go.

And you will start to ask yourself, “Why didn’t I do this? Why didn’t I do that?”

This Wheel of Life activity is a tool to help you see where you are in your life right now! In this very moment! AND IT’S FREE!!!

This tool will show you what areas of your life you are neglecting, whether your life is in balance or not, and which areas you need to work on to get it back into balance.

If you need clarity and focus in your life, then take a few minutes and complete the Wheel of Life assessment tool.

Step 1

Either use the categories below or modify them to suit your own needs. You have the option to change each category to whatever suits you best.

Step 2

For each category, enter a value from 0 – 10 indicating how satisfied you are with that area of your life right now: 0 being not satisfied at all, 10 being completely satisfied and it couldn’t get any better. The actual values mean different things to each person using this tool.

Step 2.5

If you are struggling with what does a value of a 5 or 10 mean and you want to be intentional about this activity, here is a Wheel of Life Worksheet with questions to think about and there is space to determine what specific numbers mean to you. I found it really helpful when I complete this activity. CLICK HERE to download the Wheel of Life worksheet.

Step 3

When you’ve completed inputting all of your values, click Create My Chart to create your own. Not only will your chart be compiled but I will also send you a PDF of your personalized chart so you have it as a reference. So you will need to fill in the first name and email address fields.

Step 4

About 10 minutes after you click Create My Chart an email of your Wheel of Life PDF will be delivered to your inbox. I will also send you ways to improve your life and regain some balance.

  1. Thanks, I look forward to receiving your communications Chris. FYI, I retired two weeks ago after 43 years of working. I call it ‘rewire’ because that’s what I’m going to do!

    • Hi Debra, the WoL activity is a great place to start. It will give you a snapshot of where you are right now. And then you can focus on a category or two to improve. I highly recommend filling out the WoL worksheet. It will give you even more clarity.
